Wasini Island Dhow Full Day excursion at Shimoni with snorkeling in the Marine Park, lunch, and local village visit with pick up and drop off at any hotel
Depart from your booked coastal hotel and travel 46 km from the famous Diani beach. After driving through sugarcane and coconut plantations, arrive after an hour at the famous fishermen village of Shimoni.
The tour begins with boarding an Arab dhow and sail for dolphin spotting toward the Kisite and Mpunguti marine reserves for snorkeling winning or diving.
Unspoiled, beautiful and sun kissed, the Kisite Marine Park in Wasini island was established to protect the scenic islands and special habitats of a wide range of endemic marine animals and breeding migratory birds. It lies in the coral gardens south of Wasini Island and encompasses three small coral rag forest islands, each with considerable areas of fringing reef. Kisite is one of the most rewarding snorkeling locations at the coast. Visitors can also enjoy bird watching, diving and of course, sunbathing.
After almost 2hrs sail, arrive at the marine park commonly referred to as the Jewell of the coast. For 2hrs, enjoy the sightings of underwater life. This is for all as the non-swimmers are also given all the assistance to enable them to enjoy the underwater world.
Later sail back to Wasini Island, where you will be served with sea food lunch such as lobsters, crabs and coconut rice and sample the local vegetable of the island, thus sea weeds on the coconut sauce.
After lunch visit the island and later cross to the mainland to visit historical slave caves commonly known as Shimoni caves.
Thereafter depart from the Shimoni village at 3:30pm arriving to your booked hotel around 5pm for the rest of the beach holiday.
What you need to take with you is the water friendly shoes, a towel and sun burn lotions, huts, cab and even sunglasses.
Tour program is inclusive of transport, lunch and the marine park fees.
